Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a short list of regularly asked questions, hopefully these should help you with any queries you may have. Thought of another question you think may be quite important to have online? Just leave us a message. You can contact us by email or telephone if there is any further information you require.

Q – I require a funny size/shape mattress, can you help?

A – All of our mattresses are made to measure; we really can make any size or shape. Even the standard mattresses are made to measure, nothing is kept in stock. So rest assured that you are receiving a brand new product tailor made just for your little one!

Q – What mattresses do you keep in stock?

A – As explained above, none of our mattresses are kept in stock as everything is made to measure. However if you request urgent delivery we will rush your order out as soon as possible.

Q – What are your current lead times?

A – Our lead times are currently between 1-2 weeks (**unless otherwise stated**), sometimes we are little quicker, and very occasionally we can take a little longer.

Q – Where can you deliver to?

A – We are currently unable to deliver outside of the UK.

Q – Are your changing mats made to measure?

A – No, our changing mats measure app. 79 x 46cm however we can do a made to measure flat changing mat (without the raised sides) available on request.

Q – I have a very old crib which is much deeper than a new crib; can I get a deeper mattress than 4cm?

A – Yes, British Standards recommend a depth of no more than 4cm for prams, cribs, moses baskets & carry cots however we can do a depth of up to 7cm.

Q – Are all of the mattress covers waterproof?

A – No, only the PVC covering is fully waterproof, however it is not breathable. All of our other coverings are fully breathable and machine washable but are line dry only.

Q – When measuring up for my mattress how much space should I leave?

A – British Standards state that any mattress for a child needs to be a snug fit, 1cm off the length and width is usually sufficient, perhaps 2cm off the width if you are ordering a mattress for a cot with a drop side. Just remember to keep the mattress snug.

Q – What are ventilation holes and why should I have them?

A – Ventilation holes are an optional extra available at a small charge for foam mattresses only. They are small holes cut through the foam to encourage fresh air to circulate throughout the mattress and around your child. The only disadvantage to having the holes is that they can be difficult to clean if your child is heavily sick. Please be aware that ventilation holes are available in foam mattresses only and are not available if selecting a PVC cover (as the PVC is not breathable, the holes are ineffective).

Q – What is the removable waterproof PVC sleeve?

A – The PVC sleeve is another optional extra; it is removable. The sleeve is designed to protect the mattress against leaks or spills that manage to soak through the cover. The sleeve is waterproof, wipe-down and none breathable. If selected the sleeve will come pre-fitted underneath the mattress cover and will cover approximately one third of the length of the mattress. Please note that the sleeve is not available if selecting to have a full or part PVC cover.

Q I would like fitted sheets with my mattress are they made to measure?

A – Yes, all of our sheets are made to fit whatever size you require.
