Thieving babies!

baby on back asleep on a cot mattress

It has been recently found out that newborn babies actually take 2 months worth of sleep from their new parents within the first year of them being brought into the world!

The research which involved 500 mothers and fathers showed that a total of around 166 of them lost about 90 minutes of sleep per night. When this is all added up it equates to a total loss of 2 months per year.

Even though overall 90 minutes of sleep per night is lost one fifth of the parents said that they were actually woken a total of four times a night within the first month.

Therefore getting your baby settled is top priority so that you can get back to bed and get some more hours of sleep under your belt! When babies are comfortable and feel safe and are therefore contented to go to sleep.
