BA comes out on top as most family friendly carrier

So you've managed to find that one fortnight of the year in which you and your partner can get time off and you book that all-important holiday. Things should be plain sailing, right?

Well, sometimes that can be where the complications begin.

As the familiar saying goes, "it is better to travel, than to arrive", but occasionally this is not the case and one way of ensuring this won't be true is to fly with kids.

But a recent survey by Airport Parking and Hotels has done some research into the most family-friendly airlines and has found that British Airways comes out on top, offering online check-in, the option to print off boarding passes and the ability to pre-order children's meals from passengers' homes.

All of this comes as well as the airline offering priority boarding to family groups and entertainment for children onboard the flight.

Other long-haul carriers such as Virgin Atlantic offered similar attention to youngsters, with kid's packs and early check-ins.

So if your last memory of holidaying with young children was of them being bored, stressed or cramped, remember next time: your choice of carrier could make more of a difference than you think!
